Tiko concession is located over an area of 65 sq.km in the Koulikoro region of southern Mali. The concession is about 80 km south west of Bamako, the capital city. The area is accessible from Bamako along the major highway.
The Tiko West concession is constituted by Birimian metavolcanics and metasediments. These are intruded by a number of granite, monzogranite plutons. The general strike of the formations is almost along NNE-SSW to NNW-SSE. A major shear zone trending NNE-SSW passes through the central part of the shear zone and extends south. Regional structural interpretation using remote sensing data suggests that this shear zone extends southwards to Kodaba. A number of gold occurrences are located along this shear zone. Lateritization of the supracrustal rocks is observed at many places within the concession.
Supreme initiated the exploration program in the Tiko West with the digital processing of multispectral remote sensing data.
Preliminary Stream sediment sampling has been carried out in parts of the concession. A soil sampling program has also been initiated in a priority area selected along the major NNE-SSW trending shear zone.
